RM10 increase of Membership Fees

At the last Assunta Alumni Annual General Meeting held on 23 March 2024, a vote was taken by members attending and motion was passed to increase alumni membership fees from RM 10 per year to RM 20 per year. The proposal was submitted to Registrar of Societies Malaysia and have just been approved. Hence, the new subscription will take effect from 1 August 2024.

1958Humble origins at its temporary quarters at the Assunta Primary School in Jalan Templer, Petaling Jaya.
1960Completion of Phase 1 building of the Assunta Secondary School at Jalan Changgai, comprising a three-storey Junior Block and Canteen.
1961Transfer from the Assunta Primary School premises in Jalan Templer, Petaling Jaya to the new building located at Jalan Changgai, about four kilometers away.
1962Completion of Phase 2 – the building of a three-storey Senior Block with 20 classrooms.
1963Construction of Jalan Talent – through students’ efforts.
1965Construction of the new Art and Needlework rooms located beside the school’s canteen
1969Completion of the School Hall with the help of the PTA.
1973The building of a ‘Covered Corridor’ linking the school’s building, canteen and school hall. The ‘Wooden Bridge’ was built to connect the Junior and Senior Blocks. The Senior Block was extended to include an office, meeting room, two science laboratories and a cosy library.
1977A Dental Room was made available at the top floor of the school canteen.
1980‘The Shed’ – a temporary structure housing eight classrooms was built.
1988The completion of Mutiara Block featuring 16 classrooms to celebrate the school’s Pearl Anniversary (30 years).
1989‘The Shed’ was further renovated to add two workshops catering for the teaching of Living Skills.
1991‘Building of a surau for Muslims and the ‘Fardhu Ain’ block.
1993A Pavillion was built next to the Staff Room at the Senior Block as a grandstand-cum-spectators’ viewing area for activities held at the school field.
1999The building of covered corridor along Jalan Talent joining Gate B to the Senior Block.
2000Expansion plans for a new four-storey building, sparking off efforts for major fund-raising.
2001(7th September) – Foundation stone laying ceremony for the new building.
2002Completion of the four-storey Puan Sri Datin Seri Kai Yong Yeoh Building which houses the library, science labs, bengkel and state-of-the-art AV room for teaching of Mathematics and Science.
2003School canteen demolished and thoroughly upgraded.
2008Completion of the new Art Centre – The Datin Kathleen Art Centre and SMK Assunta finally has a Chapel, Datin Paduka Sister Enda Ryan Prayer Room.
